The Essex UnITe project has celebrated two International Older Person Days on the 1st October. 

In 2008 the location was High Chelmer shopping centre in Chelmsford. We were lucky to have access to a shop front in the centre where we held IT drop sessions, an online quiz with Genesis Community and information from Chelmer Housing Partnership. 

The Nintendo DS demo team joined us at the road show and we took along the Wii Console for bowling.

2009 we changed location in Chelmsford and split the team between the Meadows shopping centre and the High Street. The Essex UnITe marquee kept out the weather on the High Street but gave us great location for information and the online quiz. The computer session were set up in the Meadows Shopping centre.

Both saw 700 people at each event taking part in the activites.

We are planning the 2010 International Older Persons Event at the moment and are looking to again have the marquee in Chelmsford High Street, also attend other events across Essex.
