*NEW* Get Back Into Courses for the 50+’s!

article

Posted by Anna Nicholls on 9th August 2010

It’s been a while since any new Get back Into courses have started, (and we know how much you have enjoyed them in the past), so we thought it was about time we got you moving again!

The locations for our next two courses will be the newly refurbished swimming and ice rink (opening soon) facilities at Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre to host Get Back Into Swimming and Get Back Into Ice Skating! As in the past, the programme of sessions will be aimed at beginners and will take place over a number of weeks.

Get Back Into Swimming

These classes will be suitable for people who are either Non Swimmers or Complete Beginners i.e. you are happy to get into the water but unable to swim very far at all.

Get Back Into Ice Skating

These classes will be for those who have either never skated before or who have tip toed onto the ice but are perhaps a little prone to falling down!

For now, it would be great if you could let us know if you are interested in taking part. Both courses will be starting before the end of the year and will last between 6 and 8 weeks.

I think the swimming is a great idea but the ice skating is rubbish. I am over 50 and cannot stand up on ice at all so consequently the idea of having lessons is stupid.

Surely, the idea of the ice skating lessons is to help people stand successfully on the ice. Given the recent weather, is this such a bad idea?
